JAIPUR hand embroidered Zardosi rug from Rajasthan
JAIPUR -- Hand embroidered carpet or wall hanging, Indian Zardozi embroidery, blue green gold
This is an authentic Rajasthan Rug, I brought back years ago from my trip to India.
All of the carpet, which is a small wonder, is hand embroidered with traditional rajasthani embroidery, with pearls and beads and gold thread and what is called zardosi embroidery, which is a kind of very complex and time consuming embroidery that can be found in India, Pakistan, Iran and other countries. (Check it out)
This could be used for a wall hanging or as a rug, however you will have to do as Indians do if you use it as a carpet, go bare-foot on it, as you might tread on the pearls and break them.
The dimensions are :
103 cm x 153 cm 40 inches x 60 inches
There are two of these, one red, one blue. I can make you an offer if you'd like to buy both of them.
This rug is absolutely NOT WASHABLE, even by hand, and must be handled with great care by a dry cleaner if need be. In particular, the dying of the fabric is entirely natural and so you must be careful not to dry clean it too hot or too humid, as it might ruin the color.
This is a work of great price and craft, embroidered by men and women from Rajasthan, and fit for a Rajasthani palace !
Or your home :).
This item has never been used, or hung, before, and it ships from France. You could receive it within 5 to 10 days, the shipping is insured.
