Je ne sais pas comment cet objet est arrivé chez moi,
mais je le trouve merveilleux !!
C'est une reproduction papier d'un tableau, mais qui
semble dater car le papier est rongé, et usé, il est piqueté
par endroits.
Le cadre doré est usé et abîmé lui aussi, et j'ai d'abord
envisagé de le restaurer dans son état d'origine,
mais à la réflexion j'aime beaucoup l'effet craquelé du
bois doré, cela donne un charme mystérieux à ce
tableau religieux, et lui confère une aura supplémentaire.
Le tableau est de Simone Martini, peintre elumineur (c'est un homme) de Sienne, qui vécut au 13ème et 14ème siècle, et représente l'Ange Gabriel lors de l'annonce faite à Marie.
Je le trouve juste magnifique. Attention, le tableau n'est
pas fixé, sur aucun support. Le fond du cadre, tient par des
scotchs et ne s'encastre pas, et le tableau n'est pas collé sur
la planche de bois.
Il est vendu en l'état. Il est d'ailleurs tout à fait possible de
le suspendre en l'état.Taille 33 CM X 28 CM

This beautiful reproduction is a painting by Simone Martini
representing Angel Gabriel of the annunciation, in mostly
gold tones and hues.
This is not a painting, but a reproduction on paper,
which is imprisoned in a vintage frame, which itself
is used. There's no sheet of glass.
Actually, I don't know how this object came to me,
but I find it extremely interesting because of its
used nature. When I first laid hands on it, I noticed
that the paper is used and even torn in parts, and
specked. Also, the frame is damaged and the gold
is crackled.
I first considered restoring the frame to its original
condition, but on second thoughts, I think it's
quite wonderful as it is, as if it had gone through
ages and finally appears as a beautifully used object.
So I didn't change anything, and it is sold as it is :
the frame has a piece of wood attached at the back, which is
not the right size but is attached to it by scotch tape (sic).
The painting is a reproduction on paper and the paper
is not glued to the wood, or the frame.
So you could have it reframed properly, but as it is
it's already possible to hang it to a wall, with nails for
example.
The painting is by Simone Martini, an Italian painter (a man)
from Sienna, who lived in the 13th and 14th century and
it represents Angel Gabriel when he made the annunciation
to Mary.
I just find it's a beautiful object for hanging in a home.
