Une chaise FISCHEL ancienne, que j'ai récupérée.
Elle n'était pas en excellent état, et notamment
sur le dessous on voit que le bois courbé a craqué
avec les déssèchements et l'humidité successives, car
elle avait été entreposée dans une grange.
Pour ces craquages il n'est pas possible d'y remédier,
mais comme ils sont sous le plateau de la chaise ils sont
moins visibles.
La chaise est en bon état pour le reste, un état d'usage,
elle est bien stable et solide.
J'ai restauré la chaise en la nettoyant et en la ponçant
entièrement puis j'ai utilisé un vernis satiné chêne foncé
pour lui redonner de la couleur, et une profondeur à
la patine naturelle du bois.
Enfin sur l'assise j'ai créé une estampe de dentelle, en
utilisant de vrais morceaux de dentelle que j'ai peints,
puis extraits (voir le processus sur mon pinterest
SophieLDesign1), ce qui créée ce motif très intéressant
à la fois complexe et vaporeux qui me fait penser aux
froufrous d'une robe de Bohémienne.
Voici ce qui lui a donné son nom.
Les chaises Fischel sont les plus recherchées à cause
de leur forme caractéristique, du patrimoine qu'elles
représentent, et aussi de leur solidité.
Celle-ci est devenue spéciale et sera une pièce d'apparat
dans votre intérieur.

Chaise FISCHEL La Bohémienne, chaise d'art motif de dentelle sur l'assise
An old Fischel chair, that I saved.
It wasn't in very good shape, especially under
the seat, you can see that the bent wood is
cracked, due to the variations of temperature
as it was stored at a barn.
For these cracks, there's not much I could
do, but since they are underneath you'd have
to be sticking your head constantly under the
chair to notice them.
The chair is quite stable and sturdy.
I cleaned and sanded the chair completely,
and then varnished it with a satin dark oak
varnish, which renovates the chair and gives
it a dark more profound hue, and also increases
the patinated effect of the wood.
On the seat, I created a pattern using real lace
that I painted, and then removed, as a stencil but
the lace was extracted when it was dry, which
creates a stunning filigree design that's very
interesting, both delicate and complex and
blurry and misty at the same time. It reminded
me of the frills of the dress of a Bohemian, and
so the name comes from that.

The Fischel chairs are some of the most
sought after in France, because they have
a special shape, they are our patrimony
(many were used in cafés before) and
also because they are very sturdy chairs.
