Un très beau vase vintage qui est resté
dans ma famille depuis plus d'un demi
siècle.
Il est orné d'une rose sur le devant,
et d'une pagode asiatique sur le dos.
C'est une véritable pièce d'antiquité,
le sceau de la maison Mason's,
fabricant de poteries en Angleterre,
fait foi de son authenticité, sur le dessous
du vase.
Le petit couvercle rond,
est en parfait état ainsi que le vase
lui même, bien qu'il s'agisse d'un
article ancien. Le vernis transparent
est veiné de fines craquelures, qui
sont sans danger et qui ajoutent
du cachet à cet objet.
Le style s'apparente aux vases des années
30, avec cette forme ronde caractéristique,
mais il est aussi pétri de l'influence des
vases traditionnels chinois, bien que la
fleur du devant soit une rose, et non un
lotus.

Vase vintage Mason's Ironstone
This wonderful vintage vase is a genuine piece
from Mason's company, England.
It was purchased by a member of my family
probably in the 50s or 60s, although the
date of its fabrication is uncertain.
However, there is a seal under the vase
confirming its authenticity.
The vase is in pristine condition and gorgeous,
although it has stayed in my family for more than
half a century. There are some very fine lines
of crack in the varnish, giving it an aged look
which adds some cachet to it.
It will be perfect in your home as a refined decorative
object, or used as a jar, to hold any small objects you might
want to store.
The style is definitely evocative of the 30s, with this
particular round shape, and a simplification of
traditional Chinese china patterns. However the
flower painted on the front is a rose, not a lotus !
At the back you can see a pagoda, and on the lid
the flowery pattern continues.
For a truly inspiring and refined exotic interior.
