Un grand buffet Mado, emblématique des années 50,
que j'ai relooké.
Chaque porte est peinte à la main, selon des motifs
de papier peint des années 70, imités par le dessin.
Elles sont également résinées, pour plus de résistance
à l'usure, et ce qui fait que la peinture ne s'abîme pas.
La tahitienne du milieu est une reproduction d'un tableau
de Roy Lichtenstein, célèbre artiste pop art américain.
(En fait, il s'agit d'une Hawaïenne !)
Le corps du meuble est entièrement noir, mais à l'intérieur
il est peint en rouge, avec une grande étagère traversante
en haut, et des étagères diverses en bas.
Les deux niches sur le côté ont un intérieur vert pomme.
Il y a deux tiroirs au milieu.
Ce meuble a une très grande capacité de rangement,
en raison de ses nombreux compartiments.

Les deux parties se posent l'une sur l'autre, donc
on peut les séparer pour le transport.

Buffet Mado relooké T A H I T I noir et blanc
This is a big china cabinet piece which has taken me
a while to refurbish.
its design is originally from the 50s, and it is
a piece which is meant for a kitchen, but
it could also be put in a dining room,
especially as it is highly decorated.
All of the doors, are handpainted, with
handmade reproductions of wallpaper designs
from the 70s, mostly in black and white,
and sometimes with beige, or a touch of grey.
For the doors I used water-based paint mostly,
but they are varnished with a coat of resin, which
makes these paint layers virtually non-decaying,
as they will be resistant to changes of temperature,
humidity and heat, and they are totally
waterproof.
For the rest of the piece of furniture I used
Dulux Valentine extra strong vinylic black paint,
shiny.
There are numerous cabinets, 2 drawers, lots
of storage space on the shelves, and it is perfect
to store china, cutlery, cooking utensils etc.
Of course, you could also store anything
you decide, like clothes, books, or objects, etc.
Its dimensions are :
6 feet high total height (1.87 m)
4.80 long total length (1.46 m)
1.5 ft deep (outside measurement) largest depth
the top part is slightly less deep.
This piece separates into two, so that for the shipping
it will be delivered as base + top + doors separately.
The glass windows are granited glass, single sheet.
The central figure is a reproduction of a Roy Lichtenstein
pop art painting, the Hawaiian. It's collaged and then
repainted on.
